Phylogenetic analysis of quinone synthetases based on the respective adenylation domains. The A domains were aligned using ClustalW2 [69] implemented in the MEGA X software [68]. The evolutionary history was inferred by using the Maximum Likelihood method and Le_Gascuel_2008 model [70]. The percentage of replicate trees in which the associated taxa clustered together in the bootstrap test (1000 replicates) are shown next to the branches [72]. The bacterial counterparts RalA and EchA served as outgroup. Substrate acronyms: 4-HPP 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvic acid, IP indole-3-pyruvic acid, PP phenylpyruvic acid.
