Co-regulation of the pigment cluster genes. a The C. purpurea wild type strain was grown for 10 days under conditions not favorable (−) and favorable (+) for pigment production. (−) 0.5 g/L KH2PO4 and 300 g/L sucrose; (+) 4 g/L KH2PO4 and 100 g/L sucrose. b Regulation of the pigment cluster genes by a zinc finger transcription factor. The wild type as well as three independent CPUR_05433 overexpression mutants were grown for 7 days in under conditions unfavorable for the pigment production (300 g/L sucrose and 0.5 g/L KH2PO4)
